  Poetry Has Feelings Too

While some poetry is like summer
some is like knock, knock jokes.
Others are serious or unpredictable.
It's impossible to predict what a poem will be like
until you've already read it.
Sometimes after reading poems that have a hard to understand title,
you still think you can't understand them,
but you really do
in a way that you didn't think was possible.
Isn't it strange how poetry can be so much like a person
even if its just a blunder of letters on a piece of paper
just waiting to be finished
and released out into the world
to make people happy,
sad,
to make them laugh.

  CA

Beautiful surroundings,
sparkling snow as white as a just-washed baby bunny hopping around.
Clear ice sculptures as clear as the air,
tall mountains reaching up into the clouds
with the birds,
sleds speeding fast as a cheetah
running after its prey.
Sweet beaver tails with cinnamon and sugar.

  Honeysuckle so sweet.
Memories come with it,
along with its sweet taste
pulling one little strip from the sweet flower
as you touch it to your lips
and a drop comes down.
So sweet is that drop.
I have never tasted anything better.
So many flowers,
so tempting,
but no...don't take them all.
Save them for next Spring
when they'll be ripe again.
Then you can taste the sweet juice
another tempting time.
