Kevin S./Mr. Pond's 4th grade class

Boring....
White like a blob of absolutely nothing,
green like thinking of the outdoors.
It happens in a 9 million hour ceremony
or on an airplane ride to Japan.
It feels like nothing at all.
It smells like rotten eggs,
like people that didn't use aftershave.
From Mrs. Hardt, Grade 4 students

Crazy...

Tie-dye like the zebras zig-zags,

the horse of the changing colors,

like a rainbow exploding gold coins over a poor city.

It happens when baby's eat their first birthday cake,

you jump into a freezing pool,

you Po-Go stick to the moon.

It sounds like the kids bouncing off the walls,

music playing loud,

a teacher thats gone MAD!

and it smells like my mom's perfume before she goes to a party,

super sour airheads.

Crazy...

Green...
like a leprechaun,

a lime lollipop,

good luck clover.

It sounds like grass on a summer day

running through the wind,

treetops swaying in the breeze,

the rippling waters of the Atlantic coast.

It tastes like sparkling Mountain Dew,

a sour apple, a mushy lima bean.

It feels like slimy slippery seaweed,

the wind rushing through my hair,

my mom's gooey face cream.

If it could do anything in the world

green would surround us in a peaceful, serene environment.

From Room 18, 4th Grade

Sad...

Blue like how I feel inside.

Black like the kitten I saw.

Gray like the dust inside my chimney
or gray like a stormy day.

I happens when I don’t get my way.

When you get left out or when your pet dies.

It sounds like rain hitting the sidewalks on a stormy day,

like people crying.

It smells like old, dirty socks

and a dusty chalkboard.

It feels like a soft, silky blanket,

the splash of cold water as I jump into the pool,

slimy, icky, gooey wax,

the most delicate butterfly,

and the soft sand of the beach.

Sad could do back handsprings

or bring a soft, cool breeze to a summer day.

Purple...

Eggplants, violets, the backpack you take to school,

pansies, the juiciest, sweetest grapes,

lollipops, crayons and ice cold grape juice.

It sounds like harps and violins in harmony,

a dog’s bark,

a clock ticking,

the wind whistling on a hot day,

a pig snorting.

It would taste like mouth watering bacon,

the Pringles I ate for snack,

big juicy pickles,

warm pizza,

and ice cream with melted chocolate syrup.
Purple!
